VAR-SMARC System on Module Family
Built to the SMARC standard at 82 x 50mm with a 314-pin high-density connector, the VAR-SMARC family brings Variscite scalability to the broad SMARC ecosystem – enabling customers who require SMARC-compatible carrier boards and off-the-shelf enclosures to benefit from the same upgrade flexibility as the DART and VAR-SOM families.
The family launched with the i.MX 8M Plus-based VAR-SMARC-MX8M-PLUS, delivering quad Cortex-A53 performance, AI/ML acceleration, and an on-module TPM 2.0 chip certified to FIPS 140-3 Level 2 – a security standard no other SMARC vendor currently offers.
The VAR-SMARC-MX95, currently in development, will extend the family to up to six Cortex-A55 cores, independent real-time co-processors, an independent Safety Island architecture, and a 2 TOPS NPU, making the VAR-SMARC family well-suited for safety-critical, AI-enabled industrial and medical applications requiring a standard SMARC form factor.
